Our Volunteers
"Built by the people, for the people."

St John's Hospice wouldn't survive without the dedication and hard work of its army of wonderful volunteers. Hundreds of people give their time and skills freely for our hospice from a few hours a month to a few days a week. The hospice was "built by the people, for the people", and this is still true today.

The Courtyard Café also relies heavily on volunteer help. In total there is a team of over 50 volunteers keep The Courtyard running. From Café Assistants, taking your orders and bringing you your food and drink, to Kitchen Assistants, clearing your tables and washing the pots! There are also the volunteers in our fruit and vegetable garden, growing and nurturing delicious fresh stock for our café, and hospice patients, all year round.

We would like to publicly thank all our amazing volunteers here, without whom there would be no Courtyard Café or indeed St John's Hospice.

If you would like to volunteer at the café, or the Hospice in general, we would love to hear from you. There are so many different roles and they needn't take up more time than you are able to give. Click on the button below for more information.
